Contaminated runaway takeoff

Thrust-reduced takeoffs are permitted on runways contaminated with slush, snow, standing water, or ice, provided the takeoff performance takes into account runway surface conditions. The hypothetical temperature method shall not be used for

reduced thrust takeoff

.

If the pavement length and obstacle clearance required to continue takeoff at the minimum V1 speed meet regulatory requirements, the V1 can be reduced to the minimum V1 speed to increase the stopping distance margin. Determination of minimum V1 speed may require real-time performance calculation tools or dispatch to provide additional performance information

Takeoff is not recommended when slush, wet snow, or standing water is more than 1/2 inch deep or dry snow is more than 4 inches deep.
